CFO Rick

Id love to post about the wonderful things my cousin is doing with his business, but I cant. Rick is disrespectful, big headed, and untrustworthy. I cant claim this as a client because I am FAMILY. I cant imagine what sort of behavior he shows to clients and employees if they choose to be so toxic even with blood. Please do not use this business

Very very bad environment to work in. Working at the basement. Start 8am to 7pm. Monday to Saturday. Stay away from here. Crazy work schedule. Manager doesn't know how to manage the people and work. All she knows is bullshit every day with another people. Doesn't know how to train you, and organize the work. They don't have specific time for you taking lunch break.

No break time for you, no matter how long you been working. Go to their basement for work without window open, even during Covid time. One day a week work from home, but, they will let you go on video call keep tracking you every minute. Uncooperative co -workers. worst job experience ever.

Wonderful first place of work for students/recent graduates. A real "foot-in-the-door" opportunity. Requires hard work, you will learn much more quickly than at other firms. Not for the feint of heart. Rick is exceptionally knowledgeable, Warren is an excellent interpersonal manager, and (more than) competent accountant.

I have been with Rick for about 10 years now. Everyone is amazing and easy to work with. Rick has always made tax time very easy going.

It's been five years and I still will never forget working with this guy. Seems like he has gotten worse given recent reviews as well (or for him, the same). Don't go here. There are way better options.

I have to agree with many of the other reviews here. We had a terrible time trying to work with Rick. He was incredibly rude over email and on the phone, telling us at one point he "didn't have time for our questions" when we asked why we were being billed for certain tasks. We found we were charged for services we didn't know we had received or agreed to, and at times had trouble getting responses from his office or getting attention to basic tasks we had hired him to help with.

We eventually paid up and left, simple to stop having to deal with him, having received none of the regular accounting work we hired his group to do. We discovered later that he's not a certified accountant (though one person in his office staff does appear to be). I hope others avoid this experience.

HORRIBLE COMPANY! DO NOT GO HERE! Never written a negative review in my life! Because my experience was SO horrendous, I felt I must speak out. I'm absolutely disgusted by the way I was treated by Rick. Where do I begin? The company I'm currently working for employs CFO Rick to do their accounting. Everything was fine until they messed up 1 payment, and then all my paychecks after that were late and incorrect.

I did all the steps they said to do, submitting invoices in a timely manner, and they decided to sometimes pay me for only 1 week instead of 2. I was late on rent twice, my account went negative with over-draft fees, and when I pointed out their error (which inevitably messes with my livelihood), they never apologized for it or communicated with me about it at all.

When I contacted Rick for the first time (on the phone) in attempts to figure stuff out - in a calm way, he immediately charged at me. basically yelling at me in a VERY CONDESCENDING manner, not acknowledging his error. I have NEVER BEEN SPOKEN TO LIKE THAT IN MY LIFE. He was completely unprofessional and is clearly untrustworthy, shady, sexist, and very inappropriate.

At this point I was very frustrated. My boss spoke to him and they were able to rush 1 of my paychecks. Then they said the rest would be deposited into my account today (1 week late), and SHOCKER. no deposit in my account AGAIN. Lol, the late payment is late. And alas, rent will be late again. *Even though it's totally besides the point, I should state that I just moved to CA, just started working, and haven't had an opportunity to put money in savings yet.* When I was told that I'd be paid on specific dates, I'd expect any company I'm working with to comply. It's business, and it's an exchange that I rightfully earned.

So instead of being complacent and feeling powerless, I decided to go to their office today and see if there was anything they could do (because they weren't returning my email which I very plainly stated that I didn't receive payment as promised and asked when I could receive payment). When I went to their office it was A MESS! Papers were everywhere and massively UNORGANIZED.

No wonder they had so many issues with paying me on time! I was lost in all the chaos. The accountant even told me HE FORGOT to submit my other invoice and that it would be in my account in a week. This is ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. NO APOLOGY or admitting it was his fault. UNBELIEVABLE. When Rick came out to speak with me he had me go into a conference room and treated me exactly the same as he did over the phone- cutting me off as I was trying to explain my situation and my concern, telling ME I had an attitude (if you knew me you would be flabbergasted by this statement). I'm not going to lie, I was angry, and perhaps it was showing in my facial expression, but I was not rude or argumentative.

It was the other way around. I'm not one to typically cast blame and I'd say I have quite a bit of sympathy and understanding for other people. This man was beyond my ability to have an understanding for. He told me I had an attitude for pointing out their mistake! SAY WHAT?! So do you expect me to just sit quietly and not stand up for what's right?

Absolutely not. I will respectfully voice my concern. I was asked to leave, and so I did- absolutely enraged. When I looked up his other 1 star reviews on Yelp, I'm comforted by the others who spoke up and basically said the same things. Also, what's with all the 5 star ratings? Isn't it interesting how there's no 3 or 4 star ratings? Suspicious. Rest assured, if this comment is taken down, I will just keep reposting it :) because other people need to be aware of this deplorable business.

This man knows what he is talking about and will give you honest information. He reviewed my previous tax returns and concluded that my current CPA was doing a fine job and was cheaper. Amazing. After that we discussed possible investments that I was considering and he had excellent advice and things to think about. I will definitely be calling him to discuss future business and personal investments. If my CPA drops the ball or I am not happy with his service (the main reason I went to Rick in the first place), CFO Rick will be my first and only stop.

Rick is very patient and explains everything along the way. He makes you feel comfortable no matter what your financial situation is. Keeps you updated throughout the year Communicates very well.

After filing my 2011 taxes, I contacted CFO Rick to help me correct an error on my 2010 taxes. His office responded immediately to schedule an appointment that week. Rick personally called to cancel my appointment because he was going out of town. I have now contacted their office 3 times to reschedule, and have not gotten a response. While initially impressed, ultimately a disappointing experience. I suggest taking your business somewhere else.

The service that CFO rick and his team give is exceptional. The IRS had an issue with my ammended return. Rick, the owner of the company actually got on the phone with the IRS and conferenced me in. I would have never been able to do this on my own. The IRS person was not the easiest to deal with. Rick was able to get the situation resolved and was very calm and cheerful during the entire interaction. I would highly reccomend CFO rick ifyou are looking for EXCELLENT Service and someone to be your advocate with the IRS.

These guys seem great so far. I found them on Gilt City, and it worked out better than I could have imagined. They are very attentive and patient, truly seem interested in building a long term relationship, and they also seem trustworthy. Without the coupon they're probably not super cheap, but I consider this to be a good investment.

This is my first year using CFO Rick. He has had my information for a month and has never given me an update. Ten days before tax day he promised a list of questions for me to answer. I never got them. I have called and emailed numberous times and had no response. The only way to reach anyone is to speed dial the office until someone picks up. It is now tax day and I have no idea if my return will be filed or if I owe money.

He is the most irresponsible, unresponsive professional I have ever encountered -- never met a lawyer, doctor, dentist, hair dresser, manicurist, dog trainer, pest control, dang comcast is better. Save yourself the stress and don't go near this guy.

Magically, my review disappeared from this site. Imagine that. I'm posting this update so that potential clients of CFO Rick are warned.

This is my first year having a professional accounting firm do my personal taxes, I was quite pleased! I was hesitant, being that I only used on-line tax services for the past several years, but Rick and his staff exceeded my expectations. Not only did Rick counsel me on the importance of financial planning in my 20's but he also went line by line on both of my returns.

I felt like I was one of his VIP clients, I was greeted by a very friendly staff and left his office with an exceptional tax return! I have to say, I was very, very impressed with the advice and financial services I received from CFO Rick, and I would recommend him and his capable staff to everyone in the City and Bay Area.

The owner has zero interpersonal skills, tact or ethics. If you're looking for a reliable person for fiscal help, you won't find it here. Be warned, the owner isn't someone you want to trust with your finances.

I had a great experience with CFO Rick. They did a wonderful job with my personal taxes. It was such an easy experience and I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome. They thought of every detail and were extremely helpful. I will definitely go back to CFO Rick and his team.

CFO Rick has done my personal taxes for the last two years. A friend recommended him to me, and I couldn't be more satisfied. Not only was he less expensive than H&R Block (who I had been using), but his team was very thorough. They sat down with me to make sure I understood what they were doing and where I could save more money. The review booklet they gave me at the end was a nice touch too. I'll definitely be going back for my 2009 taxes.

Rick has been working on my personal taxes for a few years now. He has always provided excellent advice and service. Over the years I have increasingly given him and his team more responsibility with also the finances of my small business and family members' taxes. The team has taken very good care of everything I have asked of them -- all with great attention to detail, professionalism, and a pleasant attitude.

I have been a client of CFO Rick since 2003. He has helped me through my tax problems and managing my finances better - and I am an individual. I receive reminders for when to make appointments for doing my tax returns, when I have had quarterly payments, and even when there are tax information that applies to my situation. Overall, I am extremely happy with CFO Rick's services. Rick and his staff are very personable and dedicated. No client is too small. Thanks Rick and Staff for your hard work.

I'm starting to think that Brett has something personal against Rick (and frankly it makes me wonder about his judgment of Rick's professionalism). While his first review seemed like he was just trying be helpful, his latest update is more revealing of his real agenda. I hate it when people use Yelp to take personal shots at. Other readers, beware.
