In 1999 Pat Bauer brought her love of preparing tax returns from a side-hustle to a small yet thriving CPA practice. Throughout our twenty-plus years in business, we have grown from a one-woman shop and our first tax software appropriately named "Pencil Pushers", to our current all-women powered team of nine working with an advanced array of cloud software mostly in a virtual environment.
To paraphrase Benjamin Franklin's famous quote "in this world, nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes." At BWCO we like to also think that you can be certain to find a fabulous group of hard-working women, dedicated to the craft of not making your taxes feel like death! In all seriousness though, we love what we do, and hope you find we have so much more to offer than just a tax return. In today's world, business owners often find themselves wearing the proverbial and often literal "twenty hats".
As accountants, we love assets. We carefully and purposefully select the tools we utilize internally to perform our work and the ones we use with clients for collaboration, accounting, payroll, and other functions. Finding partners we trust that we can incorporate in our technology tool box is one of our top priorities, and believe us, we are extra picky in making these choices! While our firm operates almost entirely in the cloud, rest assured our heads are NOT in the clouds when it comes to protecting your information.
In 2020, we successfully moved our team to a mostly virtual, work from home environment. Many on our team are mothers to school-aged children and have found that working from home provides more opportunities to be with our families. Though we may not be as available in person as we used to be, our goal of providing uninterrupted services to our clients remains.
