Hi, my name is Chuck Powers, and I am the principal of Powers Accounting. My credentials include certification by Intuit as a QuickBooks ProAdvisor. What does it mean to be a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor? To become one, a candidate must complete a three-part, in-depth training course on a version of QuickBooks and successfully pass comprehensive testing.

After calling around a dozen local accounting firms, all of whom seemed to be geared towards larger companies than mine, and subsequently didn't really want to deal with me, I could tell from the first couple of minutes that something was different about Chuck. He is straight-forward and forthcoming with information he didn't have to give me on a first call.
I'm excited to get started with him and I'll definitely come back and update this review in the future. So far, Chuck seems knowledgeable, qualified, and friendly. In our 15 minute call he gave me multiple ideas about how I can improve my book-keeping and potentially save on self-employment taxes. Financial and legal services tend to get overlooked for reviews when they do good work, and unfairly criticized (often due to no fault of their own) when it doesn't work out well for their customers.
I have a feeling working with Chuck is going to put me in that "good work is invisible" category, but I wanted to leave a good review, because those other six calls I made this morning were pointless. I wish I would have started here. If you're hunting around for a CPA, consider giving Chuck a call. There's something different about him! Excited to get started!

I'd like to commend Chuck Powers, CPA, for the caring and thorough accounting and tax support he's provided my small company over the years. He's grown to be a trusted business professional who has truly been a valued and competent part of my team. Thanks so much, Chuck, for helping me and my business to be successful :

I am leaving a review for people thinking about using Chuck Powers as their CPA for their small business needs. He did not communicate with us, would not tell us how many hours he had spent to date, and then one week prior to April 18th, he dropped our account. Then he refused to give any documentation to our new CPA so they could continue in an effective manner. In my book, this is unprofessional and show what kind of a person he is. Buyer beware.
