For nearly 50 years, we have assisted low to moderate income residents of southeast Michigan with tax preparation and education services. Taxes provide a unique moment of opportunity to connect with and build trust with clients moving along the economic mobility spectrum.We leverage this moment in the realms of economic justice, financial capability, workforce development and entrepreneurship. Not only are we the largest provider of free tax assistance to transitioning populations in Michigan, but we are also the only provider of the unique small business services and low income tax clinic services we provide, often on a pro bono basis.

Even though you do not need to file a tax return or have tax filing requirements to apply for the HHC, we'll double-check your information to see if you're eligible for other tax benefits while we're at it! Eligibility for the HOPE Detroit homeowners, and is based on whether you own and occupy your home as your primary residence and your household income or circumstances.

Very friendly staff but this is all I can say that was good about my experience at 7800 W, Outer Dr in Detroit MI. I had an appointment on April 2nd which was moved to April 1st in which I didn't mind. Upon arriving I sat down with Site Manager and I informed him that I didn't have a SS card that was readable and it was very worn out. I brought in and old tax document, however, only the last four digits of my SS # was visible. He( the site manager) said that if I had something such a SS document or a document from the IRS with the full display of my SS # it would be acceptable.
I remember specifically asking him what if I had an old tax return with the full display of my SS # would that be acceptable, his answer was " sure, yes, that would be an acceptable". Skip or jump to April 13th for a follow up appointment I brought in an old W2 form with the full display of my SS # and this site manager went back on his word. I never got a chance to talk with him, he just kept sending messages back and forth through his staff saying that he didn't tell me what he told me on the 1st of April and if he did he made a mistake.
Well I guess it was April fool's day and I was made of fool of and whatever your name is (Site Manager at 7800 W. Outer Drive in Detroit) you blatantly lied. You admitted that you must've made a mistake in telling me that I can bring in an old tax form with my SS# in full display and where I from you should HONOR YOUR MISTAKE. Shame on you Mr. Site Manager at 7800 W.Outer Dr in Detroit MI, you are TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL not just by honoring your word but saying that you never said it in the first place and if you did, it was mistake. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!

I find taxes so stressful and unnecessary but every year I go through it and this year I needed help! I came here with lots of questions and extra paperwork from the previous year I needed assistance with. It was definitely a lot of extra work yet Peter K. got all of it taken care of! And for free! I couldn't be more grateful! Whew, what a load off!

I had an scheduled appointment for VITA ACE appointment for Today, February 6th at 2:00pm EST. This appointment was made weeks prior in January on the ONLINE WEBSITE RESERVATION PLATFORM on Accounting Aid Society website. It is currently 5:48pm EST and no one has made contact with me. No call, no email, NOTHING.This has been an inconvenience of my day and quite frustrating that I cannot talk to anyone.
I am in need of answers and assistance as of now since my whole day was consistent to wasting my time and energy of my Saturday. This is totally unacceptable and inconsiderate of my time! You can't contact these people via phone for assistance. This was totally unfair and feel taken advantage of.

I sent an email regarding questions on about my upcoming appointment. Katie was quick to respond not once, but several times over the course of several days and was able to answer all of my questions without hesitation. I've used Accounting Aid Society in the past, and have always had a pleasant experience with them. Thank you!

I am very disgruntled at this time and here's why: I have patronized accounting aid for many years. The service was great in the beginning. I Filed my 2018 taxes at Oakland County Financial Hub, in Ferndale. I Filed on February 27, 2019. I called to Inquire about my return many times since then. I have left numerous messages for someone in management.
I cannot get info regarding an acceptance date from the State of Michigan. I cannot get info from the state's web site, Where's my refund. I spoke to a live treasury agent and was told, there is no info in the treasury system for me at all. I received a copy of an amended return after filing the first one on February 27, 2019. The call center has limited knowledge as to what happened and how to contact the site where my return was completed.
The voice mail box is always full. Oakland county site left a voice mail n said, we did an amended return, something went wrong, it wasn't your fault. Also the voice message said, I'll get a copy of the return. I got a copy a week ago, tried calli g Oakland County site, after they called me for a week. Today is March 31, 2019 and I have not received any return calls from anyone at the call center where I have left messages for a supervisor to call me.
What do I do to reach a Live person? Where is my return? Can anyone help me? All calls are routed to call center, there has to be a better way. I need HELP to track my return. I feel alienated.
