Hy is a pleasant guy but his services cost more than 3x what I was charged elsewhere for last minute filing. We had to pay more on taxes when we worked with him. My current accountant just flipped who of the two of us was as head of household and we saved 2 grand. If you've got extra money you can continue to go to Hy and you'll have an honest, pleasant accountant but if you want to save money go elsewhere.

I have been a client of Hy Appelbaum, CPA for well over two decades. In these years the principal agent Hy Appelbaum has been very flexible, understanding, and competent. As a result, I have paid my fair share of taxes. I had a great experience with Hy. He is truly an expert in what he does, and his vast knowledge is evident in the diligent tax preparation he does. He is always available and is responsive. I had an earlier deadline to get my tax return done, and he got it done in time for me despite being so busy. He was able to get me the biggest credit which I am pretty sure I would not have gotten if someone else prepared my taxes. Work with him, as you are getting the best, and will not be disappointed.
