The origin of our firm began in 1956 when Leslie Watts opened an office in downtown Bakersfield. We are pleased to say that Leslie was the sole practitioner of an accounting firm that would grow to be one of the most well-respected and diversified firms in Bakersfield. In 1959 Noel Daniells became a partner and the firm became known as Watts and Daniells, Certified Public Accountants. Shortly thereafter, Tom Phillips joined the firm as a partner. Our talented team of partners and staff's pride runs deep in the firm's history.

Our talented team of partners and staff's pride runs deep in the firm's history. Today, the people who make up Daniells Phillips Vaughan & Bock hold a high degree of skill, and offer diversity and dedication to our clients and the public accounting profession. They are the true reason for the continued success of the firm, which has consistently demonstrated leadership abilities with several partners having served as Presidents of the Bakersfield Chapter of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Daniells Phillips Vaughan & Bock has a solid reputation in the business and financial communities for providing quality financial information. Peer review is required by the AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants) for all firms who prepare financial statements. As members of the AICPA, Private Companies Practice Section, our Firm has participated in peer review for many years and as such is examined every three years. We have participated in this program on a voluntary basis prior to peer review becoming mandatory.
We form strategic alliances that enhance the services to our clients. This typically will occur when the alliance helps satisfy a specific need or when we can significantly reduce a client's search time for a specific product or service. We continually evaluate our alliances to ensure they are providing our clients the best alternatives.

If you are looking for an accounting firm that will make tons of mistakes on your accounting and waste tons of time, this is the perfect firm. Their tax return department, biz op department, and reviewed fs departments are terrible.
After having DPVB do some work for us, we had our ex-accountant review the work and she had originally found 7 or 8 mistakes. These were only the first mistakes that we found. We repeatedly asked them, many times, to fix these mistakes. After around 9 months, they assured us that these mistakes were corrected. After we double checked what they assured us of, we realized 3 or 4 (about half) of the original mistakes were still left uncorrected. We mentioned that again, there were uncorrected mistakes and they once again assured us these mistakes were corrected. Fast forward, and we decided to continue working with them. They generated 7 financial statements for 7 of our different entities. On 3 of these 7, they made many errors. After countless reminders once again, they left these mistakes uncorrected. Eventually, when the final financial statements were generated, we still found many more errors, as well as some that we had reminded them of as well as brought to their attention.
