We have been serving the Portland and Gresham areas for over 40 years. We have built personal relationships with our clients to support their plans and goals, through economic recessions and recoveries, personal life changes, business ventures, and more. Randy joined Jim Baker to form what has become Baker & Colson, P.C. He has extensive accounting experience in many areas including manufacturing, retail, banking, logging, waste disposal and legal services, and specializes in construction-related accounting. He was born and raised in Oregon and Southwest Washington.
When Mark joined Baker & Colson, P.C., he brought with him an extensive portfolio of experience in public accounting. After working in the hotel and maritime accounting industries at the beginning of his career, Mark joined Pohs & Company, P.C., which later became Brandt & Horstmann, P.C. Due to these experiences as an owner for 16 years, Mark jokes that he has "seen it all and then some."

I will never use Baker & Colton again. The first year I used them, I thought they were good and reasonably priced. This year my taxes cost well over $500 and I was even charged $50 to speak to someone on the phone. I don't get anything above the standard deduction! I wouldn't recommend them. If you do use them, I highly suggest that you have them disclose ALL the fees upfront so you don't end up in a siMilar situation.

I have turned to Baker & Colson at least 3 times in the past 11 years seeking financial advice regarding potential tax consequences that I needed to be aware of in several different financial arenas. The tax consultants who helped me to make an informed decision regarding my own tax situations went up and beyond my wildest expectations. They were both professional and knowledgeable and left me feeling quite grateful that I had utilized their services. I would highly recommend this company and the upstanding employees who represent them.
