We came in originally to have our annual returns completed for past years that we're overdue. We were convinced to sign up for monthly services to help with monthly and quarterly taxes that could be completed automatically. This sounded great, so we signed up. While we gathered our past documents we were being charged each month for services not being done.
After 3 months we emailed to please quit charging us for services not being completed and to please provide an itemized invoice for the charges. We received no response. Another month later we asked how our annual returns were coming along and we're answered with "I have been asking for documents for months and now you choose to rush me? Your items have not been started on we are working on clients who sent their documents on time." Why were we charged continually if the services couldn't be completed?
The documents were from previous returns, how does this effect our monthly services? It doesn't. Simply logging into our Quickbooks would have at least allowed us to receive some kind of service instead of being charged for nothing, or halting the service until what was needed was received. We were not rushing anyone, simply wanting to know how things were going since we had been charged for months without any information, any itemized invoice showing the services completed, and then come to find out our Quickbooks account had never even been logged into by Wright.
After 5 months. They never even logged into our account. But yet the monthly services were continually charged. We finally decided to leave Wright after realizing nothing was going to get completed and we shouldn't have to be spoken to in this manner. They do not support small businesses, they want you to sign up for monthly services that can be setup in Quickbooks for 20% of the cost.
Our returns were never started, documents asked for we had already sent. Now 2 years later we received another invoice for $1,000 for more "services." I again asked for an itemized invoice and was told "it's too difficult to understand." Our new accountant we have been with since this incident in 2020. We can call and ask questions, call during tax season, receive a real invoice, and are always treated with kindness and respect. DO NOT FALL FOR IT! There's better out there who won't scam you and treat you with disrespect.
