Because accounting and reporting compliance for nonprofit organizations differ markedly from that of for-profit organizations, federal and state compliance has become a monumental task. We will make this process less burdensome for you, enabling you to spend your time on what matters - your nonprofit's mission.
Accounting with Debits and Credits has extensive experience in all areas of business accounting, taxes and compliance reporting. Whether you are just starting out or your business has been operating for decades, we can help guide you closer to your financial goals by providing customized support and planning, allowing you to return to what you do best.
With decades of experience in tax planning and preparation including Federal, State and Personal Property returns, we use our extensive knowledge of tax law and the current financial landscape to minimize your tax liability while keeping you on track to achieve your financial goals. We are available year round to provide individualized support and assistance to you and your family.
Have you just started a new business? Did you know expenses incurred before a business begins operations are not allowed as current deductions? Generally, these start up costs must be amortized over a period of 180 months beginning in the month in which the business begins. However, based on the current tax provisions, you may elect to deduct up to $5,000 of business start-up and $5,000 of organizational costs paid or incurred. The $5,000 deduction is reduced by any start-up or organizational costs which exceed $50,000.
