Ann M Irons Manage your accounting, reporting and tax planning so that you can remain focused on the things that you do well. It isn't easy to stay on top of the financial operations of your business. It is even harder to make sure you are compliant with tax laws and regulations so that you don't pay more than your fair share of state and federal taxes. As a small business owner, you have little time to manage the needs of your business, never mind the monthly requirement to manage your books. If you have employees, it becomes even tougher, and we haven't started talking about tax planning.
Services
When you first started out, it made a lot of sense to do your own books. After all, you had limited resources and could afford the time to do your accounting on a monthly basis. But now your business has grown to a point where you are too busy serving the needs of your customers, and don't have time to keep up with your books.
Tax laws change annually. Keeping up with the ever changing tax code is nearly impossible if you don't do it on a full time basis. As a result, if you don't work with a tax professional, you could be paying more than your fair share of taxes, either individual or corporate. We will happily work with your software, but prefer and specialize in working in QuickBooks.
As a citizen of a foreign country with investments and financial assets in the United States, you are required to pay taxes on your income. Even if you are accustomed to U.S. taxation practices, you are likely unaware of the detailed, ever-changing tax laws and codes that apply to you. In addition, the legalese, which defines whether you are a resident alien or non-resident alien, holds great significance regarding tax implications. Allow us to take this worry off of your mind, so you can continue your life abroad while we prepare your taxes here in the States.
Financial Literacy, as defined by the Presidents Advisory Council on Financial Literacy, or PACFL is. Now matter how you define it, in the end, the outcome of any financial literacy program is to help you understand that if you spend less than you earn, and invest your money wisely, you will be more likely to enjoy a higher quality, more productive life.

UPDATE: Jan 11th, 2022. I gave her another star because she facebooked me today. Her recollection of what happened is different, and now it was all my fault for not having paid enough taxes on time. I guess we will have to agree to disagree. I have nothing against Ann Irons. Feel free to hire her if you want to.

See your response however we never received an email update despite calling several times to update. Even tried to contact you via the portal and still no response. In fact the first return call we received was this morning telling us you were sending back our forms due to a negative review Thin skinned or just overworked? 1/2 star Ps just got back from a tax professional where we now reside. Taxes done and filed within 3 hours. Received a letter from Ms Irons demanding I remove my review by 8/30 or she will contact her attorneys All I said is true. Still waiting for an email or contact via her portal.

Disappointing. We initiated meetings to arrange for the completion of our taxes. Only to have them changed to accommodate Ann's schedule, and still Ann was not present. Secretary or assistant instructed just where to sign. After reviewing the returns at home the next day discovered an error. Contacted Ann's office to inform of the mistake and to not file the returns. Ann's response was convoluted, and unprofessional. Knowing the returns where sent and the only solution is to file amended returns. Ann's overlooking us as clients is unprofessional and demonstrates a lack of respect and commitment as her clients. Would not recommend Ann M Irons, CPA to anyone looking for tax guidance and advice.

I had Ann Irons of Medway, MA prepare my taxes for 2017. They apparently took on more work than they could do, and for the first time in my life (I'm 72) I was a couple months late filing my return. They assured me they checked my information, and that I would not owe any more in taxes than what I had pre-paid. Turned out they were wrong. They also said they would be responsible for any late fees.

I had to pay a small fine, but I just paid it out of my own pocket, and did not bother with Ann Irons. I hired a new CPA. Last year I received a Notice of Deficiency from the State and a bill for $677.35 because of a mistake that had been made on my 2017 tax return, , which included an interest charge of $212.89 and a penalty charge of $169.46. I mailed a copy of the deficiency letter, an explanation from my new CPA explaining the mistake Ann Irons made, and a copy of my check for $677.35 I had to send to settle that mistake.

I never heard back from, or received any money from Ann Irons. If I ever do get reimbursed, I will delete this review and move on. They may have just lost me in what I imagine is a mountain of paper work. If you are reading this, you will know they never did. I would avoid this business, and would not recommend her to my family or friends.

Ann was very disappointing. She was supposed to file an extension and didn't. She did tell me that she would cover the penalty expenses and she stated that she would expedite my return. She didn't At first, she told me that the information was just about complete and by the next day, I submitted this information. But she kept discovering things wrong, which I found out by visiting her office, which is in the same complex as mine.

As of June 15 and another estimated payment not submitted, Ann had not finished my return. So I visited her office, where I I was updated when I talked to her secretary, which is the way I thought she worked (interfacing with her secretary) But today, she told me that I had stopped by too many times yesterday (2-3 times.). One time, she was at a dentist appointment and the secretary told me that she would be back in an hour, so I came back 90 minutes later.

But she was busy and could not see me. She took a message and told me that Ann would call (This had happened in the past and she did not call. ). I politely left. Today, 2.5 months after coming to her office, she told me that she would not do my return because I came by her office too many times! I am still stunned by what I see as unprofessional behavior on her part and told her so.

I implored her to finish my taxes. She listened politely but refused and asked when I could pick up my paperwork. I told her today (June 27) as it only requires a walk to another building. Now it is almost July and I have to begin the whole process over again.

My three siblings and I went to Ann to help us after my father passed and there was a multitude of tax issues to be delt with. Ann was a comfort to work with; professional with a personal touch helping us through a tough time. Everything was done to precise and we were so thankful we all continue to use her. I recommend her highly.

I have used Ann's personal and business services for three years now. She's responsive, and very pleasant to work with. I recommend her to everyone I know in the area looking for a CPA.
