DSJ CPA

The firm totally screwed up my tax return for 2020. If I didn't catch the obvious mistakes, I would be paying a large penalty for my 2021 returns for under withholding. I had sent an email copying 3 DSJ accountants voicing concerns about preparing my 2021 returns but no one responded to that email promoting the change in accounting firms. Without appropriate customer service, present clients become former clients.

Please be aware.! Paperwork for taxes was filled out incorrectly and many errors were made. In which come to find out we owe back money On NYS Taxes. I had called multiple times to speak with an Accountant named Anthony Perrone. When I finally was able to get in touch with him he was completely unprofessional an extremely rude! ( Yelling and screaming) Absolutely no manners what so ever. Would not recommend him as an accountant!

I cant begin to describe how unprofessional they are. Like previous posters wrote, they never respond to emails. They ask the same questions over and over. And most importantly, they missed a crucial filing deadline, which resulted in a penalty for me with the IRS, and worst of all, when I told them about they, they refused to fix it. I have filed a formal complaint with the state licensing board. If the IRS does not waive the penalty, I will be taking DSJ to court. Yes theyre that bad. Feel free to message me for more details, but these guys are crooks!

I used to work with Howard Oconefsky, who is an excellent accountant. Several years ago DSJ bought his practice, and the quality became AWEFUL. They raised the prices a lot, and yet don't respond to emails or calls, miss deadlines, ignore complaints, and ask for the same documents multiple times because they lose the ones you send. They have 0 accountability, and yet somehow charge twice as much as my new accountant. I have never written a negative review about any business, but this firm INFURIATED me. I agree with other reviewers, stay away!

Agree with other posters. They missed a critical business tax deadline, and offered to do it 2 months later! at a rate way beyond reasonable. they apologized for messing up but would not adjust the invoice to reflect their error. I am now subject to an IRS penalty, and if my new accountant cant get it waived, I WILL be suing DSJ for negligence, in order to recover the money. also i had to call 5 times to get them to change another error.

I used to love working with Howard, but once these DSJ people bought him out it became AWFUL. they are so unprofessional. wouldnt wish them on my worst enemy, and considering filing a formal complaint with the state. Also, all their 4 star reviews are recent and from posters with only 1 review, so they are trying to artificially pump their ratings.

These folks are really the least professional people I have ever worked with. UPDATE: The IRS has levied a 2000$+ fine on my business. I have formally complained to the NYS Licensing Board, who are investigating DSJ for negligence. I am also in process filing a lawsuit against them. Read the other reviews, beware of this company!

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, Value Very disappointed! No communication! You are basically on your own! Had to ask so many questions didn't get anything worth the cost of the accountant!

I have known Bob Jahelka for approximately 35+ years. Jim Dunne and his colleagues are fantastic - my taxes are complex (income from many states and foreign jurisdictions); investment income issues also arise and can be tricky. Jim and his DSJ CPA colleagues are responsive, knowledgeable and a tremendous pleasure to deal with. That is why I have stayed with them for almost 20 years - and I could not imagine leaving the DSJ CPA family!

I've been a client of Gigi Boudreaux's for over 10 years and I couldn't be happier. I came to Gigi after another accountant made some huge errors with my taxes and put me in some huge unexpected debt. Since that time she has worked with me to get me out of that disaster and implemented a plan that I can trust year after year. At every turn she has had my back and has often come to me unsolicited with new ideas and opportunities to maximize my own tax situation. For years tax season used to cause me extreme anxiety, but since I met Gigi I can rest easy.

For an accounting firm who deals with numbers, their calculators are broken. I was a client with this firm for a year and a half and the amount of mistakes the they made was terrible. If they paid me monthly I wouldn't stay there. a total disgrace on multiple levels. I pay my bills the day I get the invoice and then they demanded that I pay my invoice prior to them doing the work. NOT HUMANS and eventually it will catch up with this firm. I am working on my complain with eh State Education Department with ALL of the documentation. This firm is a bunch of criminals

She is very personable, knowledgeable and generous with her time. We appreciate that she is willing to meet with us in person to discuss our financial issues and returns. The prices for this accounting firm were raised while we were getting our taxes done and we were not told that our invoice was going to be more than what was initially agreed until it had already been issued. The receptionist on the phone was less than helpful in getting the situation corrected. We ended up paying the invoice but will be doing our taxes somewhere else next year.

I would give them a zero rating if I could! Very unprofessional and rude customer service not to mention their uncalled for and ridiculous prices. They good your tax return hostage while ripping you off. Save your money and go elsewhere!

This is the third year I've gotten my taxes done here. My accountant was always very friendly, professional and quick. His receptionist was quite rude, but that didn't really matter much to me. At first I liked them a lot, but over the last two years their prices have increased drastically, without warning, for the same type of returns (no change in jobs, property, children, etc).

When I inquired about this and told them that the prices of other local places are lower, they really had no explanation for it and told me that I shouldn't compares apples to oranges. Because of their uncalled for spike in pricing, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

These guys have been doing my taxes for years now. their level of customer service & professionalism is excellent, and they really know what they're doing when it comes to your finances. It's a family owned business and you really get the feel that they care about you here.
