Ever seen Blackbooks? Specifically the episode where Bernard throws his tax receipts onto his accountant's desk? That's basically me every EOFY. Classy, right? But at some point you have to man up and do the adult thing. Sort your receipts, know what you can and can't deduct, look at your HECS. I can already see your eyes rolling into the back of your head with sheer boredom.
Still with me? I'd been an accountant hussy until I found Nick Gregory. He's turned me into a one-accountant woman and I couldn't be happier. Last year's tax was horrendous but Nick kept my expectations in check and in fact, exceeded them when he reduced what I thought I had to pay by quite a few zeros. I also like that as someone who doesn't take numbers as my first preference (hello straight A English Student here!) he never makes me feel less than for not understanding.
In fact, he never had to - all his explanations were conveyed on a level I understood. And for me, the fact that I can email Nick all of my return without having to make an appointment or allocate hours to sit in their offices going through it all means tax time is far less arduous. Bonus! Now.to transform this year's return from Bernard-style to appropriate Adult-Lani style.
