I have been working with Horrifying and Company since 2015 for personal and S-Corporation taxes. George is knowledgeable, professional and goes the extra mile to answer your questions. His Quick Books expertise is also very helpful.

George and Stephanie did a great job helping us clean out our QuickBook business account. George is a great tax and financial advisor. He helped us to save a lot of money last year and this year. We are very pleased with his services and recommend him to anyone who needs accounting help.

We have been using George and his firm for many years now to do our corporate and personal tax returns. But more than that, we switched to George because we needed a Quickbooks consultant and a CPA who could provide training for my staff as well as real business and personal finance advice. George's experience in these areas has proven invaluable. His staff is also friendly, knowledgeable and willing to help.

Earlier this year I needed a new accounting service to help me with my new business. I've been working with George and his team since October. In addition to all the traditional accounting services (tax returns, etc), George has been a big help with more general business formation issues (incorporation procedures, handling sales tax, etc). He already saved me $5000 this year by switching my business from a C corp to an S corp. And their deep knowledge of Quickbooks has been a plus too. I sat down with them for a few hours to make sure my Quickbooks account was setup properly from the outset.

I recently started my 1st business and needed some guidance to insure I set it up properly. George exceeded my expectations. The depth and diversity of his knowledge and advice has set me up for success.

I just met with George at Horrigan & Company to discuss tax planning for our business, and we have been very pleased with their services. We have finally found the accountant that we can see ourselves working with long term, after having gone through 3 accountants before that. In our two sessions, I received onsite Quickbooks training and met to discuss tax planning. I can honestly say that I left their office both times feeling so comfortable and at peace knowing that we finally have a solid business partner.

My experience with George Horrigan and Lynn Hanks was terrible, and I agree with Jenna B's review on 7/4/2016. It appears that George has not improved his business practices and I regret not reading the reviews before I hired him. Therefore, I am exposing my experience with using Horrigan & Company services so that other small business owners will be aware of his unscrupulous tactics and beware of his unethical behavior.

I am a woman-owned business that discovered Horrigan & Company through the Quickbooks referral system. The initial phone call with George was impressive as he shared his background in business taxes and bookkeeping services. I decided to hire his company to do Quickbooks reconciliation and cleanup for my business accounts. George assigned me to Lynn Hanks who contracts her bookkeeping services through Horrigan & Company as a Senior Quickbooks Consultant.

After meeting with Lynn Hanks to discuss my needs and granting her permission to review my Quickbooks account, I received a detailed 2-page proposal including the estimated hours as 12-16 and an hourly rate at $95/hour, between $1,140 - $1,520 to complete the project. Additionally the quote stated "Before any additional work is completed, a revised quote or amount of additional time needed will be communicated and will be your decision on the direction to take at that time".

From 11/2017 to 1/2018, I was bill $1,950 at $95/hour of which all was paid to Horrigan. I explained to Lynn that this project had exceeded my budget and that we needed to bring closure. Mid-January Lynn emailed me a detailed status report and a plan to complete the project stating that we only had 3 to 4 more hours at $95/hour. In March, without any calls, emails, or letters I received invoices from Horrigan & Company for $1,765 at a rate of $145/hour.

Before I could question him about the invoices, George had charged my credit card on file. When I questioned him about the increased rate AND charges, he proceeded to justify the charges by stating that Lynn is a Senior Consultant worth $145. Her fee is more as a consultant than when she is doing normal bookkeeping services, and He said that I had to pay for her time talking to him about my account! Really?

I ask why he did not disclose any of this in my initial quote, he failed to answer the question and continued to say that Lynn had to do so much work on my account etc.etc. He never acknowledged that he charged my account without my approval. He never acknowledged not disclosing the rate of $145/hour or any rate other than $95. He never explained or identified the additional work Lynn did from January to March.

He never apologized or took ownership of his unscrupulous business behavior. He had the audacity to tell me that I was getting a deal for Lynn's services. He never referenced or acknowledged how I had already paid more than the initial quote. But this topped it all, he then sent me another invoice for more hours at the $145 rate and attempted to charge my credit card again without my permission.

After I confronted him and Lynn on a conference call, George sent me an email with this in the subject line "We are no longer your CPA for either of any of your businesses or your personal situation". Then after all that, I received a letter from the IRS that the business form George filed for me with the IRS was REJECTED and DENIED. He billed me $198 which was paid, so now I am out of that money too.

I have reported the fraudulent billing to my credit card company, and the charges are under investigation. Small business owners- pay attention. If I had not read each invoice and calculated the rates on each one, I would have paid over double for Horrigan services. If you do business with George with Horrigan & Company review, verify and audit every invoice, billing, and service that they claim to render. Do not trust their word-- you might get screwed.

I am a small business owner. My company operates three(3) full service unisex salon franchise called Fantastic Sams Cut & Color. George has been instrumental to maintain my books, advised me with company structure and recapitalization. He is well educated and highly professional. It is easy to work with him and experienced with all tax matters. He is not cheap but it's worth his service. I focus on my business and his company takes care of my financial matters. I highly recommend George's CPA service to anyone.

George Horrigan is a great asset to anyone he and his firm are working with. He has been a great CPA for my companies and for myself as well for over 20 years. His efforts and insight has not only been beneficial financially but also an education for me in decision making and planning for growth. Weird; it looks like Yelp's recommendation algorithm moved all of the positive reviews to the "other reviews that are not currently recommended" section below and just kept the one negative review and one review by someone who's never used their services. I used their services back when I lived in the area. They've been doing taxes and financial planning forever, and they did the highest quality work and sincerely cared about all of their customers.

I have been a client of Horrigan and Company for a few years now and I can't say enough good things about George and his staff. They have helped us with both our Business and personal taxes. They are friendly and knowledgeable and can answer any questions you have. Additionally Angelina has been great in training me on how to use Quickbooks for my business.

Even when I am busy and not able to make it into the office in person she can examine my QB file and help me diagnose and fix any mistakes I have made. I love the peace of mind I have knowing Horrigan and Company are handling my taxes and all the complicated paperwork. Stay away.especially if you are a woman-owned business! I've never been treated in more of a chauvinistic manner than I was by George at his office. I contracted with George Horrigan in February 2016 after meeting him at a business networking event. My corporate and personal taxes were finally completed in April (down to the wire). When meeting him at his office in April, he invited me into his conference room to review my taxes.

I proceed to sit directly across from him and he insisted that I sit directly next to him on his right side.he wouldn't take no for an answer. I thought it was odd, but but brushed it off. The very next thing he did was to tell me to sign both my corporate and personal tax return. I was astounded that he would tell me to do this without first reviewing the returns with me.

I refused and he insisted that this was standard protocol and he would have to get my signatures to proceed with the review. I told him there was no way I would ever sign anything without reviewing what I was signing. Only when he realized he could not have his way did he back down and proceed to review my returns with me. The returns seemed to be in order so I had no problem signing them in the end.

But then when he pulled out the bill, it was far greater than we agreed upon (in writing) before I even contracted with him. He billed me at the high end of his quote when we had already previously agreed to a flat rate right in the middle of his low and high quote. He insisted that his bill was justified. But thankfully I had my computer with me, located our email exchange and again showed him our agreement. I really believe that he thought he could have his way with me and had no regard for me as a client. He's living in the dark ages.ladies beware.
