So, oxford seems a bit too expensive? College street seems to be a bit rusty and old? Local book stores does'nt have what you're looking for? No problem then, take the road straight towards " Earle, Kalighat" where you would find and AXIS atm and a book store next to it by the name of "Wisdom Books".The store is quite famous and renounced amongst the college students of the south for having not only study material but also a good set of novels consisting of all kinds of genre.
My first visit to this store was September last year when I was looking for a book by the name of "Making of the game".Could not find the book in Oxford, college street or in any other book store hence a friend of mine advised me to check out this place, at first I wasn't soo exited but once I reached I was happy to see that no only did this store show cased the book to me but gave me alternative books of the same genre.
Quite impressive indeed, not only first hand first copy edition of new and old novels but second hands books are also sold. You can also be a member of this shop by paying Rs.500 and can redeem any book for a rent of RS.40 which has to be returned within 2-3 weeks. I was quite impressed and happy with their service and the knowledge of the man behind the counter. Over all this is a good option for those who might want to look beyond OXFORD and COLLEGE ST.
