Ken has prepared our taxes for several years now. He's fast, thorough, and always makes a stressful time feel less so. I do not recommend going here. I was looking for a long-term CPA, but I just met a con. He requested I sign an agreement and place a deposit before he started the work. But I never did either of those, and he charged me for his time anyway. He never replied to my emails regarding this. If you're want to have a bad time. Please contact Ken.

Critical: Professionalism This guy will offer a "free consultation" but beware, it's not really free. He will still charge you afterwards. Does not follow through on his word. Stingy.

Ken was able to tax my complicated tax issue with multiple states and irs and fix them very promptly! A life saver, he greatly helped me. I will be going back to him for any and all future CPA and tax needs!

I had what I thought was a very complex tax issue pop up in which I had no previous experience with any tax issues. Ken was the Best! I thought I was in a bad situation with 4 years of taxes to do. But, Ken asked a lot of questions about my 4 years and situation and was able to find deductions and showed a vast knowledge of multiple State and Federal tax laws and benefits. When I filed he had everything broken down and gave me copies of everything thorough, concise and neat.

I am going back year after year because it makes it so simple and I know I will get the best results that I could possibly get with my tax balance. His staff is helpful and works hard for the client as well.

We began working with Ken and his team in 1993 when we set up our USA company (as a subsidiary of our UK operations). I have known Ken for approximately 35 years. I am appalled by some of these negative reviews on Yelp. It's as if they are about a different person than the CPA that I know. When I first moved to the United States, Ken prepared my taxes and I was happy with the service. The only reason Ken has not prepared my taxes in the last 30 years, is because I became a CPA in 1989.

With that said, I have seen Ken at several professional continuing education seminars on taxation each and every year. I believe that Ken has a strong dedication to his clients and the profession as a whole.

He not only provided QuickBooks files for when they prepared my tax returns for my business, but when I changed to being an SCorp, he took the time to explain to me the differences between being an LLC and an SCorp: In terms I could easily understand.

And he let me ask as many questions as I wanted, which was a joy for me, as I like to learn and understand. You won't get service like Ken's In this day and age from a book, a video, or anything else. Ken is a Real Human Being, and I like his down-to-earth way of explaining even the most complex subjects about businesses or taxes. I sleep easy at night knowing that KPR prepared an immaculate tax return for my SCorp, along with sending me other additional tax forms that I needed to mail--because they are that good.

There are better people to choose in the area. Beware when your bill from Ken is consistently similar to any money you might be receiving back from your taxes. Also be aware when hefty bills from him continue to arrive throughout the year. Also when the IRS begins to contact you via mail with issues that you've never experienced before, consider the fact that prior to your experience with this CPA firm, nothing like that had ever occurred. Many reasons to go elsewhere. I'd advise it.

I am the Managing Partner of a national CPA firm and have had a number of our clients become clients of Ken's practice. If you need a local practitioner of individual and small business taxes he would be at the top of our list. I would refer to him without reservation.

After dealing extensively with him on a major project a few years ago, I have decide to express my opinion about him. I can say that with all due respect, he is not a very nice person to deal with. The attitude starts out pleasant, he the friendliest guy.until you sign the contract. Then he turns into a very difficult person to work with. There is constant friction and no matter how much you try to work things out, he is never wrong, He will let you know that its his way or the high way, no matter what.

I believe he really doesn't know how to deal with people very well. So if you get referred to this person remember that you had better be prepared for an unpleasant experience. In my case i definitely regret ever agreeing to work with him This individual has a lot of one star reviews on various sites, take that into consideration when making your decision.

We've been using Ken as our accountant since 2007. We have an S-Corp and own 7 rental properties. In 2007 it was our first year as an S-Corp and we had originally gone to a different accountant who didn't seem to know what he was doing. We asked around and a friend recommended Ken. Ken and his team are professional, friendly and do a great job with our complicated tax situation (including home office deductions, business related expenses for our multiple properties, investments, P&L statements for our S-Corp, etc.), all at a fair price.

Some negative reviewers complained about paying hourly fees for his services. I guess they've never hired a lawyer or an accountant before, as that is standard practice. Regardless, Ken's fees are definitely affordable and not exorbitant at all. His expertise are unsurpassed and we gladly recommend Ken to our friends.

I would trust no one else with my taxes. We have worked with Ken for over ten years and during that time he has provided us with consistently stellar service. He is warm, committed, highly intelligent and. competent, and he seems to love tax law! Ken is our own knight in shining armor who has had to, on occasion, do battle with the forces of confusion and uncertainty that reside in the world of taxes. We heartily recommend him--and we're not even related!

I used his services once and he's a money scamming artist. Does not look for his clients best interest only for his monetary benefit. How he could sleep at night is beyond me. It is great we have yelp to look up local businesses. I just hope people look here first before they use his services.

I've used Ken for nearing 15 years for both personal and business returns. He's gone to bat for me with the IRS, ironed out challenging tax situations and overall performed very well. particularly when I've been a number of years past-due on various items. He's incredibly knowledgable in the areas of Tax, Finance, Investments, Trusts and overall business structure.

The few negative reviewers should understand that Ken charges by the hour, as do any professionals (you have a lawyer, don't you?). Ken is very passionate about his work, he's not someone who will sit on the sidelines and not represent you. If you have a simple 1040, use TurboTax or file your own. If you have complicated work, rely on Ken to perform an excellent job for you.

Completely disorganized. He charged us to find files HE lost in his office. I had to give the same file more than once which was sitting on his desk. It is a complete outrage what he charged us. I am condsidering legal action since he was so incopetent, substandard, inferior, and ineffective,

Beware. I ended up paying Ken well over $1,000 for nothing. Sure, he claims he did this or that, but I never saw anything he did. No taxes, no work, no other work. I only met with him on two occasions. An initial consultation and then a 2 hour meeting. After that I never met him again until our court date. I think Ken Rapoport is a big scam. Check out the Cook County Court website. Most CPA's have sued people zero times. Ken Rapoport has what looks like dozens. Be very careful of CPA scams.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND HIM!. I took an apointment with ken in order to do my personal and business taxes. I asked him in the first meeting how much it will cost me if he provides me the service. He said he has no idea. Then I told him it is important for me to know since I will not be able to pay high fees. Then he said my taxes are cmplicated. (I have two job, one K1, some gains and some interest income, that is all that went on my personal returns.

My buiness return had 3 apartment rental income only!. the returns were so easy to do.) So i told hime give me an idea if what he THINKS. he said it will be around $1500-2000. And I was like fine. He then took a $500 retainer. So he takes few days to do my returns and then bills me $1700 for the services. So now my total is around $2200.00 Then in may he sents me another bill for $688.40 for services. so now my bill is $2888.40 for a personal return and a S-corporation return (gross 30,000 ~ K).

I think he pulls the bills out of no where, just to make money he ruined his relationship with me. I was seriously thinking to give him the accounting services for all my companies. Around six of them. But his billing is so misleading that I changed my mind. I sent around about four customers and even they complained about his billing.
