Ken Callero handled my mother's taxes for several years. She passed away suddenly in April 2021. I contacted him a short time later to inform him and to inquire if there was anything special he would need since I was trustee. I was told it should be an easy return. I sent all the information at the end of Feb. I heard little or nothing from him for weeks so I emailed him to be sure he received the info.

I did get a quick text affirming this. In late March after hearing nothing. I began contacting him and received no responses. 2 weeks before taxes were due he left a msg stating we might have a problem and he needed more info. I repeatedly tried contacting him but he never called back. I finally got him on his cell at which point he said he had to have his file in front of him and he would call me in 15 min.

He never called back, kept all of my files and did nothing. This last part occurred about one week before the filing deadline. I have never again heard from him and had to hire another accountant and pay for an extension. I would have liked to have filed a lawsuit against him but felt it would be more worthwhile to inform people of his incompetence so that they do not end up in a similar situation.

I cannot thank Chris enough for everything he's done for us! Not only did he amend 3 years of taxes, he filed our 2019 taxes that were neglected from a previous accountant AND filed our 2020 taxes like a pro! He is detail oriented, patient and extremely thorough. I highly recommend Callero & Callero and Chris Murschel.

They have been handling my various accounts for over 10 years. I love the fact that you leave with your return and the professionalism of the staff. It is a family run organization and they make you feel like part of their family. They utilize the most up-to-date electronic software for your returns. Retrieve information from the electronic portal is very easy. I'm never happy doing my taxes but they do make it easier and more fun.

The reception staff is very knowledgeable and a delight to deal with. Being a local family owned operation you'll meet a lot of your friends neighbors and business associates in the lobby. They even have Girl Scout cookies and worlds finest chocolate fundraiser's for the local baseball team.

I had a terrible experience with these "professionals". The accountant assigned to my tax return did not know what an estate was. He had absolutely no clue. I had to teach him & lead him thru the steps. When I explained my frustration with their employee, I was treated rudely by the office clerk. Fees were not explained & I was charged over $850 for a personal & estate return. Tax season is a distant thought, but this office should be a no go for any accounting work & preparing your tax return.
