Tax return preparation for: individuals, corporations, partnerships, S corporations, LLCs, estates, trusts, and tax exempt organizations.
Take a picture of all the items given away, spread them all on the floor before you put them in the bag. For cash donations: Be sure that your contribution is mailed in time to be cashed before the year end. For contributions made online please save the confirming email and keep it with your tax documents. You may forward a copy to us.
Anyone who is SELF-EMPLOYED, EVEN IF YOU REPORT NO GROSS INCOME. Anyone who receives any money for rent - whether for office space, building, equipment, kit rental, anything - needs to check the filing rules with the city they live in. IF YOU STARTED A NEW BUSINESS this year, you should have obtained your Business Tax Registration already.

My husband has been using Margo for years and last year was my first time and it was right after all businesses were forced to close or work from home. I wanted to think that our terrible experience was due to the chaos of the pandemic. That they were getting adjusted to working from home and that's why after our initial appointment which was very unorganized I spent SEVERAL MONTHS trying to contact them to complete the process and got no response.
Several months of calls, voicemails and emails. I wanted to think that they were forced to shut down but I don't believe that is the case. This year I gave them a second chance only because my husband has been using them for years and always liked them. Again, I have to send several emails and call multiple times to get a response on multiple occasions.
Then over a month after our appointment, I'm wondering why we haven't gotten our return yet, so I email them asking for confirmation that it has been filed, and all they said was it was getting filed in the next day. Had I not asked, when would I have been informed that it was not filed yet? Didn't get an explanation as to why it was done so late until I specifically asked for it (it was because they had to get their system updated to some new regulations). Oh, and they charged over $500. Over $500 to get ignored and have your return delayed over a month because of their system.

I have been using Margo for almost 20 years. It was one of the luckiest days of my life, when I found her number in the Yellow Pages. The IRS wanted an additional $500,000 in taxes because of another accountant's mistake. Margo rectified the problem and dried my tears. A few years later, when I was divorcing, the IRS sent my tax return to my Ex. Margo got it back.
Even when April 15 is approaching, she and her staff are always cool, calm and collected. Over the years, I have recommended her to three or four friends and they have always thanked me profusely. Shame on Sebastian S. for his shallow review. Californians like casual and the relaxed atmosphere at Margo's is less stressful than being in the usual accounting office.

It was a stroke of luck when I found Margo back in 2005 with 5 years of unfilled back taxes and no tax knowledge. With late penalties, IRS garnishments, back taxes, and several boxes full of years of un-categorized receipts, I was a mess. She was able to quickly come to my aide, give me peace of mind, and suffer with me thought all the paperwork and missing documents.
Over the years since then, with Margo and her teams help, I have been able to build a rock solid foundation for my multiple businesses and growing household. She is totally reliable, always ready to answer questions at a moments notice, and plans your future tax strategy with you via 10-15 minuet guidance lessons about upcoming scenarios over the phone.
I no longer have huge tax bills (she helps me along the way thought the year) and consider her a tremendous asset, trusted adviser and friend. She does cost more than H&R block, but I never met anyone who was as knowledgeable, helpful, patient and willing to go the extra mile as her. With Margo your more than a client, your part of a family.

This is an absolutely terrible accounting office. Aside from dressing daily in what would be equivalent to sweatpants and a dirty t-shirt, the head accountant is one of the most disorganized individuals I've ever encountered. Her desk is a pigsty, cluttered with toys and games and everything one needs to be distracted so she can rack up your billed minutes as she putzes around doing nothing.
They charge an arm and a leg to then expect you to do all the work, so they can just hit the button at the end. EXCEPT they can't even do that on time - they are constantly filing LATE! Accounting is enough of a nightmare, don't let this firm make it living hell.
