So what should I expect with the Tax Reform Act that was just pushed through in record time? The Republican's stated objective was tax simplification, but many of the changes are really anything but that. When you are granted Incentive Stock Options (ISOs), there is no tax effect for you. When you exercise the options there is no addition to your regular taxable income.
A. You may be able to have the penalties abated. Whether it is the IRS, the California Franchise Tax Board, or some other state or city that has assessed the penalties, they will often accept your explanation of reasonable cause as justification to remove penalties that have been assessed. In most cases, a well-written letter with relevant supporting documentation showing a reasonable explanation of why tax returns were filed late or why taxes were paid late will help to mitigate penalties.A. What a difference a day makes!
Many individuals - lacking the experience and expertise necessary to administer an estate or trust properly - have no idea of what this responsibility involves. Help may not, and probably should not, come from the attorney who prepared the will or trust because of the potential conflict of interest and ethical problem associated with the question of who they represent - the fiduciary, the estate or trust or the surviving spouse.

Critical: Value I spoke with Lynn and he came off very rude. Within a minute of speaking, Lynn essentially refused to provide any service or options on how to help. As I had question, Lynn hung up the phone. Less than a 2 minute conversation and never even got my questions answered.

Having been self employed for 30+ years with 3 different businesses, I have used 5 different accounting firms. I have always considered a CPA a necessary evil for the small business guy, that is until meeting Lynn and Tom in 2013 while being audited by the IRS. I was immediately comforted and never felt intimidated after hiring Lynn to represent me.

The entire staff at Wubbles & Duffy are extremely knowledgeable and accessible, Susan who works closely with Lynn always has a smile on her face and is genuinely welcoming. I am usually able to reach them by phone with one call and have dropped in during tax season on a sat to find them fully staffed and avail to answer a quick question. In this day and age its hard enough being the little guy trying to survive not to mention represent yourself against the big machine, I feel I have found the firm I will be using for years to come

Excellent, professional service completed on time. Mr. Duffy used to work for the IRS. His knowledge has helped me navigate tax issues during a divorce.
